Two decades later, in 1978, outcast Arnold Arnie Cunningham buys the rusty old Christine with the hopes of restoring the car to her original beauty. Through time, Arnies obsession for Christine grows stronger and stronger. Arnie, once quiet and shy, undergoes drastic personality changes - becoming outspoken and arrogant, while his appearance grows darker. In an attempt to save their friends life, Dennis and Leigh try to separate Arnie from the car he loves so much. But in doing so, they discover Christine has a jealous side. A side that can be deadly.
