A CURT custom vehicle-to-trailer wiring harness (also called a T-connector) is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that eliminates the need for cutting, splicing and soldering when installing vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Most vehicles do not come ready to tow. Unless your vehicle has a towing package, it is probably not equipped with a trailer wiring connector. This is where CURTs custom vehicle-to-trailer wiring harnesses come into play. Custom wiring harnesses plug into your vehicles electrical system using original equipment (OEM) connectors. Leading the industry in towing electrical products, CURT offers 2 options for custom vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Our custom wiring harnesses use 2 or more OEM connectors to plug into your vehicles electrical system, typically at the tail light housing. The harness provides an additional connector in the form of a 4-way or 5-way socket that branches off to allow the trailer to be plugged into the vehicles power system. The other custom wiring option is our custom wiring connectors. These use a single original equipment connector to plug into a specific socket provided by the vehicle. Automotive manufacturers design some vehicles to be easily equipped for towing by supplying a socket, integrated into the vehicles electrical system, to readily accept a custom wiring connector.
